The 2019 Donation Quilt was made by guild members Joy and Mark Schilling. They generously donatated their materials and time to the guild.
The quilt was based on a design by Will Simpson, owner of "Quilting Around" in Weatherford, TX. While at the TVQG 2018 retreat, Mark and Joy quietly divided up sections of the quilt and began sewing. Joy loved the quilt design, but selectively changed the range of colors to brighten the quilt. Choosing sashing colors of bright navy and white created more contrast. The quilt name came from us loving all the "on point" block setting and intersecting sashing; reminding us of the wonderful friendships and talents of our guild members and how much our lives intertwine - thus the name "Emerging Crossroads". Many thanks to Pat McCoy who made a beautiful embroidered label for the quilt and to Nancy Lindsay Merte who took photographs.
