2001 Donation Quilt

Let us tell you the story of the Trinity Valley Quilters' Guild 2001 Donation Quilt.

Designed by our lovely 2000 Donation Quilt Chairman, Sue O'Kelley, the donation quilt has way too many log cabin blocks. Kits were handed out in March 2000 and were returned sporadically by May. Sue redesigned the quilt, requiring many more blocks to be made. In the center is an appliqued design which took lots of hours and a trip to the eye doctor to complete.

We are well on our way to completing our 2001 Donation Quilt, shown here at the July 2000 Guild meeting.

You ladies are the best!

Led by our intrepid quilters Sandra McCartney and Sue O'Kelley, guild members were encouraged to stop by the Cabbage Rose to put in their stitches. Pictured are several familiar faces around the frame:

Sondra Williams, Sandra Smith, and Reba Groce.

Carolyn Scott, Sandra McCartney, Rosemary Zaug, and Lela Alcorn

Donation Quilt Ticket Sales

The Gypsy Bee Members have a poster that is stamped every time a member sells their tickets. So far $1,359.00 have been collected in the sale of tickets. The drawing for the person who sold the tickets for the past month was won by Elke Meyer.

March 2001

We're off to a good start! The members of the Gypsy Bee (under the direction of Mary Green, their spokesperson) folded, counted, stuffed and labelled 343 envelopes of tickets and information for bulk mailing on January 11th, and seven of you already had them sold and ready to turn in with your money at the January Guild Meeting.

Those busy ladies are: Wendy Foist, Mickey Franks, Connie Kline, Nikki Mahaffey, Peggy Meeker, Sue O'Kelley, and Hazel Packer

Several ladies have already asked "for seconds" and it looks like there'll be some competition for that "most-tickets-sold" Guild membership. Don't forget to put your name on the back of each ticket stub that you sell; some ladies are using return-address labels for this to make it easier.

Gypsy Quilters will be manning the ticket-sales table at each Guild meeting so you can turn your ticket stubs and money in there for the next three months. Keep up the good work!
