Our own very talented Annie Foerster will be our guest for May.
WORKSHOP – Thursday, May 16
Most of us rely on quilting stitches to give our quilts texture. Why not work that 3-D textured look right in with the piecing? Annie will teach you three major techniques:
- Canadian Smocking
- 3-D Shape-in-a-Shape
- In-Seam Petals.
In addition, she will show you several minor techniques to give sashing and borders a textured look. In addition, she will demonstrate dragon’s teeth plus an easy way to make flying geese or bow ties without a bias seam and with the ability to transform them into 3-dimensional piecing. These techniques may be used in a sampler wall hanging, pillow, garment, or saved for a future project.
MEETING – Friday, May 17
Annie will entertain us with a trunk show featuring her extensive collection of quilts and wearables featuring her many embellishment techniques.
Please join us for both days. We're sure that you will go home inspired to create something new.
